Tips


1.  Start the morning off with some basic stretching or yoga poses.
2. After stretching drink water- room temperature to cool best.
3. Eat breakfast soon after waking up to jump start metabolism.
4. Wake up earlier enough so you do not have to rush.
5. If you have time, do some morning cardio like jumping jacks or jumping rope.
6. Start serious workouts with active stretching like knee circles and arm swings.
7. The cold burns more calories so turn up your air conditioning (although it isn't environmentally friendly)
8. Do crunches, push-ups, arm weights or cardio while watching television.
9. Try to stand more or when in a chair, sit in a lotus position.
10. Fidgeting is good.
11. Keep good posture- it's good for your back, burns more calories and makes you look thinner.
12. Make a habit of contracting your abs.
13. Use your abs to rock back and forth on your chair.
14. Spread your calorie intake over the day.
15. Instead of driving somewhere, walk or ride your bike.
16. After dinner, take a walk for at least a half hour.
17. Make sure to get at least eight hours of sleep every night.
18. Take the stairs.
19. Put the food you plan on saving for later before you eat.
20. Plan your meals in advance.
21. Dessert is a treat not mandatory.
22. Bagels are delicious but they are empty carbs so only eat half.
23. Come up with a list of non- food rewards that you can purchase when completing a weight loss goal.
24. Eat in public so you'll feel self-conscious and will not eat a lot.
25. Go on a diet/workout with your friends.
26. Keep thinspiration photos where you keep food, near your computer/television and wherever else you want.
27. Brush your teeth after dinner so you won't be tempted to eat more before bed.
28. Schedule mini workouts at different points during the day.  (yoga poses/crunches/push ups/jumping jacks)
29. Have very comfortable workout shoes and clothes so that you won't have that as an excuse to stop exercising.
30. Spend your free time pampering yourself, being productive or doing things that you enjoy (not involving food).
31. Cook/bake so that you do not feel hungry.
32. Do not sample while you are cooking unless completely necessary. 
33. If you enjoy dancing, then dance more often.  Same goes for other calorie burning activities that you enjoy.
34. Take multivitamins to improve general health- both inside and out.
35. Start taking up a sport no matter how physical it is or not.
36. Avoid food with preservatives and artificial flavors.
37. There have been a few commercials claiming that there is no difference between high fructose corn syrup and plain old sugar.  The truth is the human body was not made for chemically altered foods so high fructose corn syrup can't do you any good.  (BY THE WAY, those commercials are sponsored by the corn industry so obviously they are not going to say anything bad against the product.)
38. If you are hungry and do not want to eat, paint your nails, take a shower, take a nap or just leave the area where the food is located.
39. Wear a rubber band or bracelet that you wrote a (weight loss) motivation quote on your wrist so that you will see it next time you're reaching for that unhealthy snack.
40. Make a list of all the things that you want to do when you are skinny and read over the list every time you seat down for a meal.
41. It takes about 20 minutes to feel full so taking a long time to finish your meal is a good thing.  (Also start with smaller portions so that you can decide if you are full or not)
