Audrey Hepburn

I think Audrey Hepburn just might be my favorite actress role model.  She was a lot more than a pretty face (or her enviable frame: 5'7" and the most she ever weighed was 110 pounds  and that's when she was pregnant!)

1.  She was very thin not because she had an eating disorder but because she grew up during the Holocaust, experiencing near starvation so she had a great appreciation for food throughout her life.  She ate small meals (but enjoyed them) so food would not be wasted.

2.  She was a lady— because that was who she was.  She stayed true to herself and stayed humble.  She did not let Hollywood change her.

3.  She was a fashion icon— not because she wore a meat dress (coughLADYGAGAcough, Audrey would be horrified at the food waste just for publicity) but because she was elegant.  Audrey created the classics before they became classic— monochromatic colors with the occasional pop of pink, slim black pants, boat neck tops and the everfamous LittleBlackDress.

4.  She was a philanthropist— because she spent the later part of her life as a Goodwill
UNICEF Ambassodor instead of pursuing her career.  She made more than 50 visits to UNICEF projects worldwide and her legacy continues on with her Audrey Hepburn's Children Fund.

5.  She was an inspiration— just a few of her many quotes are below.

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!”
“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”

Jennifer Hudson

First off, congratulations to Jennifer for her huge transformation: 80 pounds and ten dress sizes.  She looks fantastic!  She's dropped weight the healthy way by calorie reduction instead of taking the easy way out with gastric bypass or liposuction.  She actually had to gain twenty pounds for her role in DreamGirls but after the completion of the movie, she went right back to working out.  Jennifer has overcome the tragic loss of her mother, brother and nephew and now has become one of the most recognized celebrity weight loss stories and I love that she kept her curves.

Kelly Osbourne

Kelly looks dramatically different than she did a few years ago and it isn't only because of her 50 pound weight loss.  She lightened her hair color from black to blonde and started wearing more feminine colored clothes.

Charlize Theron

Wow, she gained thirty pounds for her role as a murderous prostitute in the film Monster but dropped back down to her normal size 8 even before the movie premiere.  Talk about dedication to the film and to the weight loss after.
